The Proclamation emphasized Lake County's continual commitment to helping neighbors in need: responding to home fires in the middle of the night, providing shelter, food and comfort during disasters, supporting service members, veterans and their families, or saving lives through first aid, CPR and other skills. Since its founding by Clara Barton over 140 years ago, the American Red Cross has been a pillar of support worldwide, including in Lake County.

District 5 Supervisor Jessica Pyska also expressed her gratitude to the American Red Cross and the Climate Adaptation Team, Lake County’s dedicated, embedded team that proactively works to reduce the impacts of disasters. She emphasized the hard work it took to establish this team and the meaningful difference it makes at the community level, helping friends and neighbors prepare for and recover from crises. Supervisor Pyska also highlighted the role of the Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) program, which coordinates local organizations to respond quickly during emergencies and ensures that Lake County is prepared before and during a disaster.

On March 18, 2025, the Lake County Board of Supervisors officially designated March as Women's History Month in Lake County. Board Chair and District 3 Supervisor Eddie Crandell invited District 1 Supervisor Helen Owen and District 5 Supervisor Jessica Pyska to lead the proclamation.

Supervisor Pyska invited former Supervisor Voris Brumfield, Lake County’s first black Supervisor, who served in 1984 and 1988, to read the proclamation. Brumfield highlighted from the proclamation that "women of every race, class and ethnic background have made historic contributions to the growth and strength of our nation. American women have led movements to secure their own rights to suffrage and equal opportunity, while also working toward a fairer and more just society for all, [especially in Lake County]."

Audience members who were invited to speak reflected on the progress made over time, such as how some women could not open a bank account in their own name. They expressed gratitude for living in a county where the government values and respects all individuals equally.
