Outgoing Supervisors Led with Passion and Commitment
Lake County honors outgoing Supervisors Moke Simon and Michael S. Green for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to future generations of Lake County residents.

On January 7, 2025, both Simon and Green retired from the County of Lake Board of Supervisors after passionately serving the community. The Board commended Simon and Green for their dedicated and unrelenting service to the people of Lake County.

The County of Lake would like to thank outgoing Supervisor Moke Simon for his exceptional service and dedication in two terms as an elected member of the County of Lake Board of Supervisors. Simon was born and raised in Middletown, breaking barriers and serving as an inspiring trailblazer. At 27, he became the youngest ever Tribal Chairman of Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians of California. In 2017, he was sworn-in as the first Native American Supervisor in Lake County’s history, bringing leadership focused on supporting the success of the next seven generations of residents.

For his two years of dedicated service as District 4 Supervisor, the County extends its gratitude to Michael S. Green. Appointed by Governor Newsom, Green worked to ensure local policies were effective and inclusive. He helped secure the declaration of a “Clear Lake Hitch Emergency,” and advocated for additional staff positions in the Lake County Water Resources Department, in the interest of promoting healthier ecosystems for generations to come.
